69. A Call to Action - Conclusion to the DevOps Handbook
Those that adopt DevOps will win in the marketplace, at the expense of those
that do not. They will create energized and continually learning organizations
that out-perform and out-innovate their competitors.
Innovation is impossible without risk taking, and if you haven't managed to
upset at least some people in management, you're probably not trying hard
enough. Don't let your organization's immune system deter or distract you from
your vision.
Myths of industrial safety
- Human error is seen as the effect of systemic vulnerabilities deeper inside
the organization.
- Saying what people should have done doesn't explain why it made sense for them
to do what they did.
- Only by constantly seeking out their vulnerabilities can organizations enhance
safety.
